Digital illustration work inspired by the short story "Marie" written by Yotka Thomas.
Rather than illustrate the story directly, I decided to interpret it as a dream, a desire of the character, and to reference the events through details in the setting.
Marie, the main character, contemplates death at the moment of the day when she finally finds herself alone. The cold colours of the set evoke her feelings about her surroundings and contrast with the brighter hues of her body.
